Summer Programs in Mexico and Europe 08

Some highlights of past summer's programs:

Atlanta playwright and novelist Jim Grimsley joined the Writing Workshops in San Miguel de Allende to teach the playwriting workshop.
Read about Jim's course and accomplishments here.

Amanda Boyden and Joseph Boyden returned from their recent world tours to lead the fiction workshop in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Amanda Boyden's latest novel Babylon Rolling has recently been released by Random House to rave reviews and enormous fanfare. Joseph Boyden's new novel, Through Black Spruce, releases from Penguin this year to worldwide anticipation, after his first novel, Three Day Road, was recently named an international bestseller. Vistors included Alex Espinoza, author of Still Water Saints.

Dinty Moore, founder of Brevity, taught the nonfiction workshop in Madrid in 2003 and 2004, and returned this year for our inaugural summer in San Miguel de Allende. Steven Church, who joined us in 2007, returned as a guest reader.

Susan Schultz joined us again from sunny Hawaii to lead the poetry workshop in San Miguel de Allende. Poetry visitors include Hank Lazer, and Christian Bok.

John Gery led the poetry workshop and the Pound studies in Brunnenburg, as well as the tour of Pound's Venice.

Kay Murphy returned to Montpellier to lead her mixed-genre workshop on the Mediterranean.

And, again this summer, we offered a workshop in translation led by poet and translator Peter Thompson, in San Miguel de Allende.
